Arsenal are interested in signing Bayern midfielder Marcel Subitzer this summer.
The Austrian international is currently playing for Bayern Munich but he has been told he is free to leave at the end of the current campaign after failing to establish himself under Julian Nagelsmann.
He actually followed Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig to Bayern Munich last summer, but has started just eight games in all competitions since arriving at the Allianz Arena.
Atlético Madrid are also being touted as a possible destination for the 28-year old, who has 60 senior caps for Austria, and scored 11 international goals.
His lack of action at Bayern is perhaps surprising given what he achieved at Leipzig, scoring 52 goals and providing 42 assists in 220 appearances for the Bundesliga club. His best season was back in 2014/2015, when he notched up 19 goals and 15 assists in 33 league games.
He would offer the threat of much needed goals from midfield to help boost the Gunners’ offensive capabilities.
