Mari wants Italy stay

Arsenal defender Pablo Mari wants to stay in Italy when his current loan spell finishes at the end of the season.

The Spaniard joined Udinese on loan in January, and ahs gone onto make 8 Serie A appearances for them.

The Spaniard’s loan does not include an option to buy, but he has no desire to return to the Emirates, believing that he has found the “right” league for him.

He joined the Gunners initially on loan from the Brazilian club Flamengo in January 2020, after impressing in the Club World Cup final against Liverpool. The move was made permanent the following summer, but he struggled initially with injuries and only made 19 appearances in all competitions for the North London side.

It is difficult to envisage that he has a future role under Mikel Arteta with the pace of the Premier League something he has failed to adapt to in his time In England.
