Chelsea are set to compete with Southampton for Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina.
Wolves are also reported to be tracking his situation.
Still just a teenager, he has made an impressive start to his professional career. When he made his debut last August as a 17 year old, he became the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in the history of the MLS.
Since them, he has gone on to make 17 appearances for the Fire, conceding 18 goals and keeping 8 clean sheets in all.
Chelsea had already made overtures to him before they were hit by the UK government sanctions. That has given the other Premier League clubs the chance to try and steal a march on them, but with indications that they ownership situation may be resolved sooner rather than later, the West London side will be hoping to muscle their way to the front of the queue for Slonina again.
