Chelsea are bracing themselves for offers to come in for young defender Levi Colwill.
He has been spending this season loan at Championship side Huddersfield Town, where his form has helped make them into play-off contenders.
And that has attracted the notice of a host of European and Premier League clubs, all ready to test Chelsea’s resolve to keep the player.
He is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2025, so there is no pressing need to sell him.
Colwill, however, will be aware that he is in demand, and will not be happy to settle for a squad place and the odd appearance in a cup competition next season.
As with many other things at the West London club, no firm decision can be taken until the ownership situation is resolved. And, with the bidders being given more time to improve their offers, it may be months until Colwill will know where he will be playing next season.
