Arsenal will try and sell goalkeeper Alex Runarsson this summer.
The Icelandic international was signed from French club Dijon as cover for Bernd Leno in September 2021, but, when he was given his first-team opportunity at the Emirates, he made a number of costly mistakes and appeared out of his depth at Premier League level.
They signed Mat Ryan in January last year on a six month deal, and then brought in Aaron Ramsdale who has gone on to supplant Leno as club number one.
Runarsson was given the chance to rehabilitate himself in Belgium football by joining OH Leuven on loan, and, after having to wait for his league debut, he has become a regular starter for them.
Leuven do have an option to buy in the deal and, even if they do decline to exercise that, Arsenal will be trying to sell hi, having already agreed a deal for US international Matt Turner, to join them from New England Revolution at the end of the season.
