Barcelona want to reunite Alexander Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The pair were close friends when they were at Arsenal and when Aubameyang left the Gunners for Spain in January, it was Lacazette who inherited the club captaincy from him.
The 30-year old is out of contract at the end of the season, and, although there have been talks about offering him a contract extension at the Emirates, all discussions are on hold until the current campaign has finished.
Lacazette has scored just four Premier League goals all season – although he did manage a hat-trick in a friendly played behind closed doors against Brentford last week – but his hold up play and ability to drop deep is admired by Mikel Arteta.
Barcelona’s finances mean that they prefer to sign free agents at the moment, having already agreed summer deals for Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen, like Lacazette out of contract at the end of the season.
