Roman Abramovich is keen to remain involved in football.
Reports from Turkey suggest that he has already begun talks about buying a new club, even whilst the sale of Chelsea is still going through.
The club in question is Super Lig side Goztepe, based in the Izmir district, and, besides football, they also have departments in fencing, handball, sailing, swimming, triathlon and windsurfing.
Unlike the UK, Turkey is not currently applying economic sanctions against Russians so he is free to proceed with negotiations.
They have a similar profile to Chelsea when he first bought them in that their one previous league title was back in the 1950s, and they had gone though a period of decline before gradually climbing up the divisions again.
Now it remains to be seen, if the deal goes through, I f he is prepared to bankroll the Super Lig side to the same extent that his wealth helped make Chelsea one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
