Paper Talk: Man United interested in Rudiger, Arsenal to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu

Man Utd and Newcastle interest in Antonio Rudiger

According to the Daily Mail, Man United and Newcastle are both interested in signing Antonio Rudiger in the summer. The two EPL clubs are looking to take advantage of the contract situation of the 29-year-old defender, who is set to be a free agent at the end of the season. Rudiger’s contract renewal at Stamford Bridge seems less likely with each passing day.

Rudiger is one of three Chelsea defenders set to be free agents this summer. Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen’s contracts also expire at the end of the season. Manchester United and Newcastle are just two among several leading European clubs who are said to be monitoring the situation.

Man United and Newcastle are also joined by Arsenal in their interest for Moussa Diaby – a Bayer Leverkusen winger. He has scored 16 goals this season, and the Bundesliga team are said to be holding out for £51 million.

Arsenal to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu backup this summer

In a great effort to have a perfect league, Arsenal are doing their best to strengthen the squad by preparing for potential summer signings and Jhilmar Lora has been backed to be a big move.

The club has seen Cedric Soares be called up to the Portuguese national team thanks to his great displays deputizing for the absence of Takehiro Tomiyasu. However, he is 30 years old now and this is a limit to his abilities. The fact is that he soon will be on the decline.

As a result, it’s necessary for the club to strengthen its position with a competitor for Takehiro  Tomiyasu. So we can understand the reason why Arsenal are monitoring Jhilmar Lora – a Peruvian right back.

According to some football betting Asia sites, Takehiro Tomiyasu is a Japanese commanding defender, who is disciplined and much more positionally aware than other full-backs. From this, Lora appears to have either contrasting attributes or several similarities to Tomiyasu. Lora is said to be pretty balanced in terms of offensive and defensive duties. He also has good acceleration, and creativeness. However, he has some physical problems, which is a key reason why a move to Europe would be good for him. The English Premier League will provide the Peruvian footballer with the opportunity to improve his physicality.

In addition, The Gunners are also said to be interested in Houssem Aouar. The 23-year-old midfielder is said to be looking to move away from Lyon this summer. Arsenal had a move for Aouar last season, too. However, they signed Martin Odegaard instead.

According to some other reports, Arsenal are also among the sides, including West Ham, Newcastle, Atletico Madrid, and AC Milan, interested in Georginio Wijnaldum. The PSG midfielder is said to be looking for a move to the Premier League in the summer.
