Thomas Tuchel is on the shortlist to become the next manager of Manchester United, along with Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui.
Tuchel is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2024, but his future at the club is now in serious doubt given the uncertainty surrounding the side in the wake of the sanctions imposed on club owner Roman Abramovich.
The German has pledged to stay until the end of the season, but has not committed himself beyond that.
He has now overtaken Mauricio Pochettino as favourite to inherit the Old Trafford hot spot, with even suggestions that the United board would like him in place before the end of the current campaign, although that seems an ambitious target.
Whoever takes over at United has a big job on their hands, with the club needing to be rebuilt, both on and off the pitch.
