Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has downplayed stories linking him with the PSG job.
Mauricio Pochettino is considered highly likely to lose his job in the French capital following his side’s latest failure in the Champions League last week.
Already a shortlist of names has been drawn up to replace it, and Arteta is on it, as well as Tottenham boss Antonio Conte.
Arteta though, insists he has no desire to move from the Gunners saying “I am extremely happy here and grateful that this is where I am.”
The Spaniard has a contract until the end of the 2023 season at the Emirates, but there are indications that the club’s owners want to tie him down to a new long-term deal on significantly improved terms, irrespective of whether he manages to qualify for the Champions League next season or not.
Despite the loss to Liverpool on Wednesday night that dented their top four hopes, they are happy with the direction of travel under Arteta, and he is likely to be given substantia; sums to spend in the summer transfer window.
