Mikel Arteta is one of the names on the shortlist drawn up by PSG if Mauricio Pochettino is sacked, with current Tottenham manager Antonio Conte also under consideration.
Pochettino is under pressure for his job after his side were dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid last week.
At the weekend, the club’s fans turned on the players and staff, with calls for the Board to be sacked, and stars like Messi and Neymar were booed.
Now the French club could be looking for the next man to inherit the poisoned chalice of trying to bring them success in the one tournament that continues to elude them.
Arteta has impressed because of the progress that he has made with Arsenal this season, although whether he would be able to handle a dressing room full of stars and big ego is another question, given his track record with players like Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners are hopeful any way of tying him down to a new long-term deal, and he may prefer to stick with the project he has started in North London.
