Midfielder Matteo Guendouzi’s career at Arsenal is over.
The 22-year old is currently on loan with Marseille and has now agreed to make the move to the Ligue 1 side permanent at the end of the season.
He will sign a three-year deal with them.
It brings down the curtain on his Emirates career, which started in promising fashion when he joined the Gunners as a teenager, but then went off the rails after Mikel Arteta, with the pair clashing frequently over Guendouzi’s behavioural issues.
He was sent on loan to Germany and Hertha Berlin last season, but he ran into problems with the management there, who complained about his lack of discipline.
However, he has now found a home in Marseille, both ion and off the pitch.
It is not yet clear what compensation Arsenal are entitled to under the option to buy clause included in the loan agreement.
