Bukayo Saka has put talks about a new deal at Arsenal on hold until the end of the season.
The 20-year old academy graduate still has two years left on his current deal, but the club are keen to tie him down to a new long-term contract, and failure to do so will be regarded as a major admission of failure by the club’s fans, who voted him as their Player of the Year last season, and whose importance tot eh team continues to grow.
His form ahs already attracted interests from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Saka is really happy at his boyhood club, and wants to stay.
However, he will be looking for a major boost in his wages which, by Premier League standards, are comparatively modest at £35,000 and are not indicative of his value at the Emirates.
