Newcastle United are interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the summer.
The West London club have made it clear that they will not stand in his way if they receive offers that match their valuation of him, believed to be around £50 million.
The Spaniard, who was the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when he joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2018, finds himself the clear number two behind Édouard Mendy at Stamford Bridge.
Having played every round of their progress to the league cup final against Liverpool, he was disappointed to be left out of the starting line-up for Sunday’s match at Wembley, in favour of Mendy.
He was brought on late for the penalty shoot-out because of his history of saving spot kicks.
But, not only did he fail to save any of the eleven he faced, but, when it came to his turn to take one himself, he blazed over, gifting the trophy to Liverpool.
