Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke is expected to give the club substantial financial backing in the summer.
He is reported ready to endorse the club spending n excess of £150 million to strengthen the squad, irrespective of whether they manage to secure Champions League football again.
They are one of a handful of teams competing for the remaining top four place, along with Manchester United, Tottenham, West Ham and Wolves.
Previously, Kroenke has been criticised for his failure to provide successive managers with significant investment, but appears convinced by the project that Mikel Arteta and Director of Football Edu are putting in place enough to back them.
In part, this has been due to the way they have managed to shrink the wage bill over the previous year, even if, as was the recent case with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, it has meant effectively paying players to leave the club.
