Arsenal make fresh approach for Brazilian midfielder

Arsenal have stepped up attempts to sign Brazilian midfielder Danilo.

The Gunners have had the Palmeiras star in their sights for some time, and tried to sign him in the January window for a  fee of around £13 million.

That did not go through, Palmeiras reluctant to sell the 20-year old, but reports from Brazil indicate that the Premier League club are stepping up their efforts as they look to get ahead of the summer transfer window.

Danilo recently appeared in the Club World Cup final against Chelsea, and has made 83 appearances for the club, scoring five times.

Although striker remains the priority area when it comes to Arsenal’s summer transfer business, central midfield and right back have also been identified as areas of the team that need strengthening.

And the Brazilian fits the age profile of players the North London club are targeting.
