Arsenal have identified Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz, currently playing for Napoli, as a potential transfer target.
The 25-year old is under contract with the Serie A club until June 2023, but has turned down a new deal with them. It is understood representatives of the Gunners have asked for a meeting with the player’s agents in a bid to sound out his demands.
Napoli need to sell players this summer in order to help balance the books and Ruiz, who is also being tracked by Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, appears one of the prime candidates lined-up for a departure.
Ruiz came through the academy system at Real Betis and went on to play 56 times for the senior side before securing his move to Italy in July 2018.
The left footed central midfielder has been capped 15 times by the Spanish national team, scoring once for them.
