Chelsea are interested in a summer move for Ajax winger Antony.
The right-winger has made a big impression in the Champions League so far this season, scoring twice and providing four assists in the group stages of the competition.
That is in addition to the nine goals and four assists he has provided in the Eredivisie so far this season.
Still just 21, Antony moved to Europe from his home town club of Sāo Paulo in February 2020 for an initial fee of £13 million, signing a five-year deal.
He was named in the Brazil under-23 squad for the Olympics last summer, and graduated to the senior squad in October, making his debut in a World Cup qualifier Venezuela.
He has since earned seven international caps, and scored twice.
He is reported to be attracted to the idea of playing in the Premier League, but Chelsea can expect to compete for his services with some familiar names. It is reported that both Manchester clubs, City and United, are also monitoring his situation.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
