Chelsea and Manchester United are expected to go head-to-head for the signature of West Ham and England’s Declan Rice in the summer.
United have made signing Rice one of their transfer priorities, having identified the need for a commanding midfield presence as a priority.
Chelsea too retain strong interest in bringing back Rice to the club he left as a 14-year old when he was released.
And that is not discounting the possibility of a bid for him from Manchester City, who remain long-term admirers of the 23-year old.
West Ham have set a valuation of £100 million on hi, and it is expected that a bidding war may commence once the window opens again.
Rice has previously spoken of his desire to return to Stamford Bridge, having grown up in the area, but, to clear space in their squad and free money off their wage bill, they may first need to sell N’Golo Kanté.
