Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has said that he is happy at the options available to him, and was not convinced enough that better was available for the club to go into the transfer market in January.
Despite their injury problems, especially at left-back, where Ben Chilwell is out for the season, Chelsea’s own transfer business was to sign several youth players who are very much ones for the future.
He admitted that the club looked at the possibility of making new signings but insists that any new arrivals have to “make sense”.
And, at the same time, internal solutions to some of their problems were found, with Malang Sarr one of these stepping up to the challenge by filling in successfully for Chilwell.
The decision was also taken to recall Kenedy from his loan spell at Flamengo, although he is more an alternative to pay left wing back should Tuchel opt to play that formation.
