Chelsea’s latest attempts to agree a new contract with German defender Antonio Rüdiger have failed.
The 28-ywear old, who is heading into the last five months of his current contract at Stamford Bridge is currently earning £100,000 a week.
Chelsea’s initial offer of £140,000 was rejected out of hand, and now improved terms of £200,000 have also been turned down by the payer’s representatives.
Despite this, Thomas Tuchel’s side are still confident they can reach an agreement with him before the end of the season, with the layer recently admitting he is settled in London.
Real Madrid and PSG have both been closely monitoring his situation and Rüdiger knows that, if he leaves on a free contract, he can look forward to a huge signing-on fee when he joins a new club.
And now Manchester United may be able to enter the fray a well, with interim manager Ralf Rangnick reported to be a big admirer of his compatriot.
