Chelsea are interested in Inter Milan’s Ivan Perišić.
They view him as a potential replacement for the injured Ben Chilwell, out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Perišic is now 32, and, having entered the final six months of his current contract with the Serie A club, they are willing to listen to offers for him in the current window, rather than risk losing him for free at the end of the season.
Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United are all reported to be monitoring his situation as well, but Chelsea are the more likely to be able to offer him regular game time, given their shortage of options in the left-back position.
Perišić who played in the 2018 World Cup final for Croatia joined Inter in 2015, and has made 231 appearances for them, scoring 49 times. He spent the 2019 – 2020 season on loan at Bayern Munich.
