Arsenal’s hopes of signing Brazilian midfielder Arthur Mélo from Juventus have been given a boost.
The player, who is out of favour in Turin, wants to come to the Premier League, but the deal has been held up by the Serie A club wanting to find a replacement again. Suggestions that they wanted Thomas Partey in part exchange have been rejected by the Gunners.
However, now Juventus may have found their man, with reports that they are ready to rival Manchester United for the services of Swiss international, Denis Zakarai, another man linked with a move to the Emirates in the past.
Zakaria is in the final six months of has current deal with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach and, having made it clear that he is not prepared to sign an extension with them, they could be willing to sell him in the current window for a cut price fee, rather than allow him to leave for free in the summer.
