Juventus want Thomas Partey to be included in any deal with Arsenal for midfielder Arthur Mélo.
And that is likely to scupper the deal altogether because the Gunners have no intention of parting with the Ghanaian.
Arsenal have been looking for midfield reinforcements in the current window, and Mélo, who is struggling for first-team minutes with the Serie A club, is one of the names ion their list, with the player reported to be keen on the move.
However, Juventus are reluctant to let him leave without finding a replacement, and the man they have in mind is Partey.
The 28-year old, who is currently away with Ghana at the AFCON was signed from Atlético Madrid in October 2020 when the Gunners paid his release clause and, although injuries and struggles with form meant that Arsenal fans have yet to see the best of him, there were signs that he was beginning to produce the sort of performances he was signed for before departing for Africa.
