Southampton want to sign striker Armando Broja permanently.
The Albanian international joined the Saints on a season long loan in the summer from Chelsea, and has since gone on to score five goals in 15 Premier League appearances for the South Coast side, including three in his last five games.
They now want to make the move permanent but know that there are other clubs interested in the 20-year-old in case Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for him.
Given his form, his parent club have not discounted the possibility of recalling him at the end of the season and allowing him to compete for a first-team place next season.
It was a thought a bold move by Southampton to take on loan a player who had only made one senior appearance for Chelsea, and who spent last campaign on another loan spell, this time in Dutch football with Vitesse Arnhem.
However, he has thrived in his new environment and the gamble has more than paid off, helping Southampton keep their heads above water n the Premier League.
