In addition to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Newcastle United have been linked with three other Arsenal players as the newly-enriched club look to try and build a squad good enough to keep them up.
Also on their shopping list Is fellow striker Eddie Nketiah, who is into the final six months of his current deal at the Emirates, and has turned down a new contract because he wants to play regular first-team football.
Another player in the same situation is Egyptian midfielder, currently away at the African Cup of Nations, who has largely had to content himself with appearances off the bench this season.
And finally, there is centre-back Rob Holding, who has been linked with Newcastle before, and who is currently behind Ben White in the pecking order at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta. Holding signed a new long-term deal with the Gunners last year, and, of the four, is considered the most likely to stay in North London.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
