German side Bayer Leverkusen are the latest club interested in signing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
The 22-year-old has entered the final six months of his current deal with the Gunners, and although Mikel Arteta has publicly spoken of his desire to keep him, Nketiah has turned down a new contract because he is not being guaranteed the regular first-team football he wants.
That has alerted a host of clubs as to his availability, and the Bundesliga side are hoping to make a pre-emptive mod by tying him down to a pre-contract agreement during the current transfer window.
Nketiah was not involved in the Arsenal matchday squad for the match against Manchester City on New Year’s Day, having contracted Covid, like his manager Arteta.
Crystal Palace are also heavily interested in him although they may struggle to match the lucrative sums that the Germans are prepared to offer the forward.
