Arsenal are being linked with Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, and have been told they will need to pay £38 million for his services, a deal they would be able to fund with money received from the sale of Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
The former two are out on loan with Marseille and Fiorentina respectively, with options to buy in both their deals, with Maitland_Niles has emerged as a target for Roma.
The 24-year-old is set to move to the Serie A side on loan for the second part of the season, with again an option to buy included as part of that deal.
Central midfield is an area of the pitch where the Gunners need strengthening and they have been linked with Guimaraes in the past, so they have already scouted him extensively.
The defensive midfielder, who is a Brazilian international is only 24, so fits with the age profile of players that the Gunners are trying to recruit just now.
