Former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Arsenal.
He left Anfield for Barcelona in January 2018 for a fee worth up to £142 million, but things have not worked out for the Brazilian as plane in Catalonia with injuries, a loss of form, the constant changing of managers the behind-the-scenes issues at the club all meaning that he has failed to shine during his time in Spain.
In fact, his greatest success since leaving England came during a loan spell with Bayern Munich, with whom he won the Champions League, although they did not take up the option to buy him outright.
With his future in La Liga now in serious doubt, Arsenal could be set to give him the chance to kick start his career again, initially on loan until the end of the season. It is reported that Arsenal will pay only a portion of his £150,000 a week wages, with Barcelona covering the rest.
