There has been speculation that Jack Wilshere could be set to return to Arsenal.
The 29 year old has been back training with the Gunners again after failing to land a new club in the summer after being released by West Ham when his contract ended.
He has been using the opportunity both to get fit and also to take hs coaching badges, and he has also been helping out with some of Arsenal’s academy sides.
However, he has impressed Mikel Arteta with his dedication and fitness, and the manager is convinced that he could still play at Premier League level.
And that has led to speculation that he could be offered a short-term contract by the Gunners. Central midfield has been identified as an area in the team that needs strengthening, and with both Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny due to depart for the African Cup of Nations, Wilshere could be a relatively low cost stopgap.
