Having already signed Tammy Abraham in the summer, Jose Mourinho is hoping he can raid former club Chelsea for midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
And his Roma side may also be ready to offer Saúl Ñiguez an escape from his Stamford Bridge nightmare.
The Spaniard is on loan from Atletico Madrid but has signally failed to impress in West London, with his latest disastrous cameo coming on Thursday night when he was deployed as an emergency striker in the Premier League match against Everton to no obvious effect.
Loftus-Cheek had started that match but was substituted by Ross Barkley midway through the second half.
The England international has been getting regular game time this season under Thomas Tuchel, but the suspicion remains that, once the German has a fully fit squad again, he will have to be content with a place on the bench.
Mourinho appreciates Loftus-Cheek’s physicality, technique and experience, and believe that he would be an ideal fit for his Roma side,
