Arsenal have appointed one of the top talent scouts in Europe to their ranks.
Florian Bluchel, a former champion wrestler, spent a decade working with Bayern Munich, where he eventually became head of scouting as well a video analyst for the youth team.
His focus was primarily not only on those in the Bundesliga, but also included players in the Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech and American markets.
Bluchel has been appointed as the Gunners’ first team scout for Germany, where it is hoped he will combine traditional scouting along with player profiling using video analysis. It is not known whether the will have any input into the business that Arsenal intend to do in January.
It is something of a change in policy for Arsenal, who sacked their entire scouting network at the start of the pandemic, but who have since made steps to begin rebuilding it again.
