Arsenal have decided to accelerate signing a new forward and will look to bring somebody in during the January transfer window.
This was originally their priority of the summer with both Alexander Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah out of contract, but their recent problems in front of goal have pushed the issue to the top of the agenda.
Club captain Pierre=Emerick Aubameyang, who will miss most of January anyway at AFCON is in a poor run of form, whilst both Lacazette and Nketiah, when given their chances, have fluffed their lines.
And whilst teenager Flo Balogun is highly rated, he is still raw and will be allowed to go out on loan to accelerate his development.
The Gunners have scored just 18 Premier League goals in 15 matches so far this season, one of the lowest of any teams in the top half of the table, and their failure to convert the chances they do create is one of the reasons why they have now dropped to seventh.
