Arsenal open to Touré role

Arsenal are open to the idea of Yara Touré gaining some coaching experience with the club.

The 38 year old is currently working with Tottenham on a volunteer basis, as he looks to complete his formal coaching qualifications,

Earlier this year he was employed as assistant manger with Ukrainian side Olimpic Donetsk, and is currently employed in a similar role by Russian side Akhmat Grozny, who are in the middle of their winter break.

Gunners’ manager Mikel Arteta knows the Ivorian well, during their time together at the Etihad with Manchester City, when the Spaniard was Pep Guardiola’s assistant.

And it was Guardiola who advised Touré to move into coaching.

There are strong links between the Touré family and Arsenal already.

Yaya’s older brother Kolo played for the club more than 300 times over seven seasons and was part of the Invincibles side under Arsène Wenger that went through the entirety of the 2003 – 2004 league campaign unbeaten.
