Lille forward Jonathan David is another player on Arsenal’s radar as they look to bolster their striking options.
It is widely acknowledged that that the Gunners need to bolster their firepower. Both Alexander Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract at the end of the season and likely to leave the club, whilst there has been concern expressed about the apparently waning powers of club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
They have been linked with a host of players, including Dusan Vlahović of Fiorentina and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but David is another player under consideration.
The Canadian international is currently the top scorer in Ligue 1, and has been tracked by the Gunners for some time, having previously scouted him when he played for Belgian side Gent, before signing for Lille last year.
David is only 21, meaning that he fits the age profile that Arsenal are now looking to recruit from and Lille may be willing to sell him as they look to rebuild their squad after what has been an indifferent season for them so far.
