Chelsea have joined Liverpool in tracking the situation of Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
The 32 year old joined the Catalans in 2018, beginning initially with their B team before progressing through to the first team, where he ahs quickly established a reputation as one of finest players in his position in the league.
He is strong, an excellent man marker, and also carries a threat at the other end in attack.
His current deal expires in 2023 and Barcelona are keen to extend it, but their position has now been complicated by the interest from the Premier League duo, and although Araujo is grateful for the opportunities that Barcelona have given him, he is also aware that he may be able to earn more in England than the cash strapped Catalans are currently able to offer him.
He made his full international debut for Uruguay last year, and has now earned five senior caps for his country.
