Bernd Leno will remain at the Emirates for the remainder of this season, despite speculation to the contrary.
The German international has fallen below Aaron Ramsdale in the pecking order under Mikel Arteta, leading to reports that he might try and force a move away from the club when the transfer window opens.
However, with no credible back-up in case Ramsdale gets injured or loses form, Leno will be retained until next summer, given the Gunners more time to source a replacement.
Even before Ramsdale was signed from Sheffield United in the summer, Leno had been making noises about seeking a new challenge, but now it looks like he will have to wait a little longer for his wish to be granted.
Leno is under contract at the Emirates until June 2023, so there is no immediate need for the club to sell him, although with the World Cup in mind he does want to be playing regular first-team football.
