Fiorentina are ready to exercise their option to buy Lucas Torreira on a permanent deal.
The Uruguayan midfielder is on a season long loan at the Serie A club from Arsenal, and the agreement between the two clubs has a clause allowing tem to exercise their option, something they are now prepared to trigger.
Torreira has been enjoying a new lease of life after returning to Italy, after his frustrations of last season, which he also spent on loan, this time in Spain at Atlètico Madrid, where he struggled for game time under Diego Simeone.
A 2018 summer signing from Sampdoria, Torreira had a good first season in the Premier League, but he struggled to adapt to life in England, and he dropped down the pecking order with the arrival of Mikel Arteta as manager.
The release cause is believed to be for £15 million, which will be w handy boost to what3ever transfer kitty the Gunners have to spend in January.
