Arsenal are reported to be interested in signing Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, who is currently playing his club football with Lille.
The 24-year old was rated as a rising star when he broke through with Benfica, and that owed him a high profile move to Bayern Munich, with the German club paying an initial £67 million for him.
However, hs spell in Germany did not pan out as either side expected he failed to record a single goal or assist for them in 25 matches across all competitions. He only started four Bundesliga games and only completed one in its entirety.
He spent the part of the 2017 – 2018 season on loan in the Premier League with Swansea City, but things did not go much better for him, and injury hampered his progress.
However, he has since rehabilitated his career in Ligue 1, and with the Portuguese national team, scoring for them in the World Cup qualifier against Serbia earlier this week.
Both the Gunners and Liverpool have been tracking him in recent months, and now, according to the French media, Arsenal maty be ready to accelerate their interest in him.
He is under contract with Lille until 2023.
