Everton are set to compete to sign former player Ross Barkley with Premier League rivals Leeds United and Newcastle United.
The 27-year old is very much on the fringes at Stamford Bridge, although he did start the last Premier League game at Burnley. And now with his contract set to expire in 2023, they are considering selling him, although it is believed that his suitors would prefer a loan with a n option to buy at the end of the season.
The former England midfielder spent last season on loan with Aston Villa, a spell that initially began well but then faded due to a combination of injury and loss of form.
Barkley began his career with Everton and made almost 200 competitive appearances for them before his move to Chelsea in January 2018.
Both they and Leeds are hoping he can add some creativity to midfield, whilst Newcastle need to strengthen their squad as they battle relegation.
