Chelsea agree fee for Hungarian defender

Reports emanating from Turkey suggest that Chelsea have agreed a fee for Fenerbahçe defender Attila Szalai, who is also a target fir Barcelona.

Nicknamed the Hungarian Virgil van Dijk. He caught the eye playing for his country at the Euros, whilst his performances for his club in the Super Lig has also garnered plenty of attention from elsewhere in Europe,

Now it has been suggested that the Premier League club have agreed a fee of around £20 million to bring him to West London.

Strengthening their backline has been identified as a priority for Chelsea when the transfer window opens, with four existing players currently in the last years of their existing deals with the club – Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rüdiger, and club captain César Azpilicueta.

The Spaniard seems likely to stay, but the futures of the other three are less clear-cut, with Rüdiger now seemingly certain to leave.
