The newly appointed manager of Serie A strugglers Genoa, Andriy Shevchenko wants to go back to one of hs ormer clubs Chelsea to sign American winger Christian Pulisic.
The former Ukraine player and manager was appointed at the weekend to succeed Davide Ballardini who was sacked with his side 18th in the table after 12 games.
Given a contract until 2024, Shevchenko’s immediate task is to keep Genoa in the top flight, and he has already identified that the squad he has inherited needs strengthening.
One man on his shortlist is Pulisic, whose career at Chelsea has failed to really take off, with his time in West London blighted by a series of injuries.
He has just returned to fitness after his latest setback, but Is away in international duty now with the US team, with coach Thomas Tuchel already warning them about over using the 22 year old.
Pulisic is under contact at Stamford Bridge until 2024.
