Newcastle are plotting a move for Arsenal outcast Matteo Guendouzi.
The French midfielder is in the middle of a season long loan with Marseille, and, with the French club having an option to buy in the agreement, it has been widely assumed that he will be making the move to the Ligue 1 side permanent.
He is out of contract at the Emirates in June.
However, it is now reported that Newcastle are ready to put a spoke int eh wheel as they are big admirers of Guendouzi, despite the disciplinary issues which have marred his career in North London.
Although his spell with the Emirates began well, he fell out of favour with Mikel Arteta after a series of on and off the field issues, and spent last season on loan with German side Hertha Berlin.
That also began well, but later soured with the German team’s coach later complaining that Guendouzi lacked maturity and needed to grow up.
