Officials from Arsenal and Fiorentina have met in London to discuss a possible deal for Serbian striker Dusan Vlahović.
The 21-year old is one of the most prized assets in Serie A, having scored 25 league goals in this calendar year, more than any other player.
But, nowwith him having turned down the offer of a new deal at the club, the Italian side want to cash in on him.
At one stage in the summer, he was linked with a move to Tottenham, but remained in Italy and was mindful to extend his stay in Florence.
However, with talks since having stalled, they are now willing to listen to offers, and Arsenal have moved to pre-empt the competition by beginning initial talks.
The Gunners have identified a new striker as their next transfer priority, with both Alexander Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah due to leave the club next summer, whilst Pierre Emerick Aubameyang will be in the final year of his contract.
