Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira is non-committal on the future of on-loan midfielder Conor Gallagher, insisting that it is too early to discuss turning it into a permanent move.
The 21-year old spent last season on loan with West Bromwich Albion, and was once again loaned out in the summer, this time to Chelsea’s South London neighbours.
Apart from the opening league game of the season when he was ineligible because the two clubs played each other, he has appeared in every game for Palace so far, and got on the scoresheet with a brace against West Ham in August.
Then, onn Saturday, he provided an assist and got on the scoresheet himself in his side’s surprise win at Manchester City.
Vieira has praised Gallagher for his willingness to learn saying “we are really enjoying working with him”.
A product of the Chelsea academy system, Gallagher has never played a senior competitive game for them. Instead he has embarked on a series of loan moves that has also included Charlton Athletic and Swansea City.
He has been capped by England in every age group up to under 21 level.
