Both Arsenal and Manchester City could compete for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Roberto.
The 29-year old has made more than 300 appearances for the Catalans, but is in the final year of his current deal and is set o turn down the offer of a new contract, raising question marks about his future.
Instead, he is now considering a potentially lucrative move to England, with the two Premier League sides keeping tabs on his situation.
He is prized for his versatility, due to his ability to play both in central and right midfield and also at full-back.
During his time with Barcelona, Roberto, who has been capped 11 times by Spain, and has also featured for the Catalonia representative team, has won the Spanish league title six times, and the Champions League twice. For Arsenal, he offers experience in a team that is increasingly being built around younger players, whilst City are looking for a replacement for Fernandinho, who will be 37 at the end of the season.
