Broja has recall clause in loan deal

Striker Armando Broja has a clause in his current loan deal with Southampton that means that his parent club Chelsea can recall him in January if they so wish.

The Saints will be hoping that Thomas Tuchel has enough weapons at his disposal without the need for recourse for that, because they need his goals.

The 20 year old Albanian international was loaned to the South Coast side for the 2021/2022 season in August, and made an immediate impact. Scoring two goals in an emphatic victory over Newport County in the EFL Cup.

He scored his first league goal in the narrow home win over Leeds earlier this month, and followed that up by scoring against Burnley last weekend.

And with Ralph Hassnhüttel’s side generally short of goals, having lost Danny Ings to Aston Villa in the summer, they can ill afford to do without Broja in the second part of the season.
