Arsenal are once again being linked with a move for Swiss international Denis Zakaria.
The 24-year old is out of contract with Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season, and already there are signs of interest from clubs across Europe.
His contractual status means he can enter discussions with sides from outside Germany in January and even sign a pre-contract agreement with them.
The Gunners were monitoring his situation in the summer, but at the time, he chose to remain with the Bundesliga club. However, there is a growing feeling that he will not sign the contract extension that has been offered to him.
Despite brining in Albert “Sambi” Lakonga in the summer, Mikel Arteta still wants to strengthen midfield further, and Zakari offers considerable experience, and can play multiple roles on the pitch.
They may face competition from a familiar foe for his services though. Manchester City are reported to be eyeing the Swiss player as potentially a replacement for club captain Fernandinho.
