Arsenal are looking to send striker Flo Balogun on loan in January.
The 18-year was convinced to stay at the Emirates last season having been given assurances about future first-team football.
But, having started the first Premier League match of the season, he has not featured since, and was an unused substitute in the Carabao Cup win over Leeds United on Tuesday. Instead, Eddie Nketia started and Alexander Lacazette was introduced as a second-half substitute, both of whom are out of contract at the end of the season.
Despite that, Balogun is still highly rated at the Emirates, but there is a rowing acceptance that he needs now to be playing regular first-team football for his long-term development, rather than continue at under 23-level where he has proved that he can excel.
Now the Gunners have to find the right club for him to join when the transfer window opens again.
