Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel have confirmed that the club are interested in signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
The West London club made their interest in the Norwegian striker evident during the last transfer window, and were keen to discuss how such a deal might be structured. However, the German club then made it clear that the 20-yesr old was not for sale at any price.
However, that situation will change next summer, because his £64 million release clause will be active at the end of the season.
Already a host of clubs are jockeying for position in the race to sign him, with most of the usual suspects – Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona all in the running.
And a newly enriched Newcastle United cannot be discounted either.
Chelsea, though, want to be included in the conversation, and are looking for somebody to partner Romelu Lukaku.
